On June 15, SILKROAD held an unveiling ceremony for a new symbolic monument at its Giheung R&D Center, representing the identity, vision, and future aspirations of the institute. The monument carries special significance as it was designed and created by renowned Yongin-based sculptor Lee Kyung Jae.

The foundation stone, crafted from Gyeongju stone — a material deeply rooted in the history of Seokguram — symbolizes SILKROAD's strong technological foundation. Resting above it, the circular Goheung stone represents the company's spirit of innovation, groundbreaking research. 

Engraved with the inspiring message, "UNRIVALED TECHNOLOGY IS THE FUTURE," the monument reflects SILKROAD's commitment to pushing the boundaries of innovation through continuous research and technological leadership.

SILKROAD has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Asan City to promote a family-friendly workplace culture and address demographic challenges through stronger support for employees and their families.

The partnership recognizes SILKROAD's longstanding commitment to family-friendly policies, including its industry-leading childbirth support program introduced in 2023, which provides employees with KRW 100 million upon the birth of a third child or beyond. Asan City highly commended the company's proactive approach and contribution to both employee well-being and the local community. 

During the signing ceremony, Nam Gi Won, Deputy Manager at SILKROAD's Pyeongtaek Plant and a recipient of the childbirth support benefit, attended the event. He was personally congratulated by Mayor Oh Se Hyun and CEO Park Heok Ho in recognition of this meaningful milestone. 

Through this partnership, SILKROAD and Asan City will work together to strengthen the local economy, foster a healthy work-life balance, and create a more family-friendly community. SILKROAD will continue expanding its family support initiatives, prioritizing local hiring, and contributing through corporate social responsibility activities, while Asan City will provide administrative support and collaborate in creating a business-friendly environment.

SILKROAD C&T and SILKROAD T&D are launching the 2026 Concrete Technology Seminar Series across Korea, bringing together industry professionals to explore the latest advancements in concrete technology. 

This year's seminars focus on advanced concrete solutions designed to improve construction efficiency under increasingly demanding site conditions, including extreme heat, freezing temperatures, and rainy-weather placements. The first seminar, held in Suwon on March 24, attracted strong interest from industry professionals with presentations covering current challenges in concrete technology, the latest developments in chemical admixtures for specialty concrete, and accelerating admixtures for shotcrete applications.

More than just a technical seminar, the event also offers a unique blend of technology and culture through special live performances by guest artists. As summers grow hotter and urban traffic becomes more congested, delivering ready-mixed concrete within the required placement time has become increasingly challenging. Higher temperatures and longer transportation times can lead to significant slump loss, reducing concrete workability before it even reaches the construction site. 

To address these challenges, SILKROAD has developed PFR3000, a high-performance specialty admixture engineered to maintain concrete workability for 3-4 hours, even in temperatures of up to 35°C. 

Designed for demanding construction environments, PFR3000 not only extends workability but also overcomes common limitations of conventional admixtures, such as delayed setting and reduced early-age strength. With its reliable performance in extreme conditions, PFR3000 is set to become a valuable solution for safer and more efficient summer construction projects.

Here are the four key changes:

1. Mandatory MSDS Submission & Registration Number

Manufacturers and importers must now submit MSDS information through the government system before distribution. Each MSDS is assigned a unique registration number, which must appear on both the MSDS and product labels.

2. Stricter Approval for Confidential Business Information

Companies can no longer withhold chemical ingredient information at their own discretion. Any confidential business information must receive prior government approval, and the approved registration number and substitute information must be clearly indicated. 

3. Ongoing Updates Are Required

Submitting an MSDS is no longer a one-time process. Whenever new hazard information becomes available or a product's composition changes, the MSDS must be updated without delay. Even minor changes to ingredient concentrations or hazard classifications require a newly assigned registration number. The previous registration number cannot be reused, and product labels must be updated accordingly.

4. Enhanced Workplace Inspections

Regulatory inspections now verify not only the existence of an MSDS but also the consistency of registration numbers across all related documents and product labels, making accurate and up-to-date documentation more important than ever.

SILKROAD has renewed its sponsorship partnership with LPBA players Kim Ga Young, Kim Min A, Chung Soo Bin, and Kwon Bal Hae for the 2026-27 season, continuing its commitment to supporting excellence in professional billiards.

SILKROAD-sponsored athletes continue to deliver outstanding performances as the new season gets underway.

Kim Ga Young captured the LPBA season-opening title, marking the 19th championship of her career, before adding a runner-up finish in the second tour. Kim Min A also maintained her strong form with a runner-up finish in the opening tournament. 

Meanwhile, Kwon Bal Hae reached the semifinals of the second tour and earned the Top Average Award in the first tour, highlighting another impressive season. On the men's side, Cho Myung Woo claimed victory at both the Bogotá 3-Cushion World Cup and the Ankara 3-Cushion World Cup, becoming the first Asian player to win five Three-Cushion World Cup titles.
